Rebecca Helms Writer

Rebecca Helms is a former English teacher and lives with her family in Murrells Inlet, SC where she now writes for a living. Her writings encompass the sights, sounds, and flavors of the Carolina Low Country where she grew up as a child. As a creative writer, she enjoys focusing on her characters and creating an authentic voice and realistic, graphic settings. However, she is equally committed to her form as a technical writer and enjoys turning technically difficult material into easy-to-read content.

Ms. Helms holds a B.A. in English from Christopher Newport University in Newport News, VA and an M.Ed from Coastal Carolina University in Myrtle Beach, SC. She is currently working on her Doctoral degree as an Ed.D. candidate for Educational Leadership and Organizational Leadership.

While not working or studying, she spends her spare time with her family and friends and being raised by her two Bernese Mountain Dogs, Emma and Echo.

"This year, in 2018, I just wanna go on more adventures. Be around good energy. Connect with people. Learn new things. Grow!"

Emma and Echo Make Their Debut

Our two Bernese Mountain dogs rule the house and our hearts!

Echo and Emma came to the Helms family in January 2016 and have brought a sense of joy and hilarity to their home. The dogs play a huge role in Rebecca's daily life and remind her how to stay in the moment, play, and laugh! Watch for Emma and Echo's appearance in Rebecca's sequel to Singing in the Corn, as the main character, Riley Janes, heals from loss and tragedy.
